Short Science Podcast 037

Welcome to the thirty-seventh episode of the Short Science Podcast!

Join Elizabeth and Emma for all the very best science in brief.

We kick off the podcast with a few prominent science news headlines from the week including:
- Iran launches animals into space
- simple headache pill could save earthquake victims
- spidey-material could be smart-material
- drink to your bone health with beer

Emma kicks off the capsules this week with a Capsule Science looking at the use of animals in scientific investigation.
Flaminia Catteruccia, David Rogers and Francesco Baldini tell us more about their work on mosquito reproduction and how it might help in the fight against malaria.

Elizabeth rounds off the capsules this week looking at the use of animals in medical research.
And for a bit of light relief after all our mighty serious science, we have the quiz, and your science pub-quiz trivia to take a crack at!
